Sonic the Hedgehog is a blue, super fast hedgehog renowned from the video games he appears on. As a spin off, he also appears in a couple of morning cartoon shows and even had his own comic book series published by Archie Comics.
Sonic the Hedgehog made his first appearance on the Sega Master Console and Genenis around 1991. This game along with it's 3 successors (Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic and Knuckles) would make Sonic the Hedgehog one of the most known, along side with Mario, characters in the gaming industry. These games would also set the stage for the world and other characters like sidekick Tails, his nemisis Knuckles, and the ultimate guy Dr. Robotnik (aka Dr. Eggman).
As as result of the games' success, a couple of morning cartoon shows and a comic book series would come about to develop their own stories.
