Marvel Worldwide, Inc., often referred to as Marvel Comics and formerly Marvel Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Comics Group, is an American company that publishes comic books and related media. It is one of the largest comic book publishers; their main rival is DC Comics.

The company was founded in 1939 as Timely Comics. In 2009, Marvel Worldwide and its parent company, Marvel Entertainment, were purchased by The Walt Disney Company.
