Harav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg gives regular Semicha both orally and via written tests that you can send back. Does he do the same for Dayanus? Does he even give Yadin Yadin Semicha at all?
Does anyone know whether the Israeli Rabbanut exams can be written in English or another language other than Hebrew?
I understand that quotations might have to be written in Hebrew but does the Rabbanut allow to write majority in English as one…
As stated this is frm the perspective of a baal teshuvah or a non yeshivah bachor.
Can someone who has NOT attended a prominent yeshivah but learns on his own obtain a smicha? If so what areas should/could he focus on, and how would he go about…
I just recently came across the concept of hemschech smicha (https://torahdownloads.com/shiur-1010280.html). Does anyone know the origin of this concept?
I know that most Semicha Tests cover (aprox.) the laws of Basar B’Chalav, Ta’aruvos, Melicha, Shabbos, Pas Akum, Bishul Akum, Cholov Akum, and Tevilas Keilim.
But is it tested all in one shot or do they break it up ie. melicha and only afterwords…
Which well known English speaking (preferably) Rov in Jerusalem would give Semicha despite not having learnt by him/his Kollel etc? Rabbanut Semicha is a bit too bureaucratic for me.
I would say in lieu of the Semicha of Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg…
Why did they receive semicha twice?
They both gave semicha to Rabbi Meir, Rabbi Yehudah, Rabbi Shimon, Rabbi Yehudah bar Iloiy, Rabbi Elozor ben Shamua.
I noticed Rabbi Yehudah ben Bova also gave Rav Ivah and Rav Nechemya.
Maseches yevomus…
Due to the Coronavirus situation in Israel, does someone have a copy of the Shabbos Bechina (test) they can upload here? Clean copy if possible.
I’ve tried google to see if someone has uploaded.
Many thanks.
