What have you found to be the most practical havdala candle/brand you have used? We tried using stand alone candles, but struggle with cutting out large chunks when the wick descended below the wax around it. We tried using the long braided candles, but the ones we've used quickly turn into a flame thrower and drip fire.

  • Pure bees wax candle in my opinion bc they don't drip as much and don't smoke – Dude Mar 17 '24 at 03:25
  • Those tall pyramidical self-standing ones are very long lasting. I'm pretty sure we're still on our first from a couple of years ago and we haven't had any problems with it. – Harel13 Mar 17 '24 at 12:24
  • I know this is supposedly opinion based, but surely looking for people's opinions on how to do something lav davka like this is fine? – Rabbi Kaii Mar 17 '24 at 20:13
  • @Harel13 Do you have a link for the pyramid candle you use? The pyramids we've used sink in the middle after a couple months, so they require us to cut across the progressively thicker (and more difficult to cut) middle. – NJM Mar 17 '24 at 23:46
