Sufism is an ideological movement that originated as a means for purification of ones soul. There are many different groups each group has different rulings. Some drink wine, others use musical instruments, while others are actually Zuhad. Many groups practice innovations which was unknown to the Prophet's time, while others who are called Sufi use the spiritual exercises found in the pure Sunnah.
