ash-Shahada الشهادة is an Islamic creed declaring belief in oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as God's prophet. Not to be confused with ash-Shahadat, referring to the death of a martyr.

ash-Shahada الشهادة or the two shadaat الشهادتان is an Islamic creed declaring belief in oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as God's prophet.

The Declaration in it's shortest form is: (Arabic) لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله (Transliteration) lā ʾilāha ʾillā-llāh, muḥammadur-rasūlu-llāh (English-Translation) There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God

One should clearly distinguish ash-Shahada as a creed which is a testimony and the first of five Pillars of Islam (for Sunni Muslims) with ash-Shahadat as the death as Martyr
