Why does Allah (SWT) have 99 names?
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
The above verse mentions two names of Allah (SWT):
الرَّحْمَـٰنِ (Most Merciful)
الرَّحِيمِ (Most Kind)
My question is, why does Allah (SWT) have 99 names? Is this number significant in any way?
