I am now a Master Student in Geoinformatics at the Institute for Geoinformatics, WWU Münster, Germany and originally from Kolkata (previously Calcutta), West Bengal, India. Previously, completed post-graduate diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS from School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University, India where I also participated in ongoing research. A few of them are published or are under review for publication in peer-review journals/conferences. I hold a Bachelor degree in Science with a 1st class Honours in Computer Science from University of Calcutta, India.
Currently, research interests include spatio-temporal modelling using geo-statistical/empirical methods mostly using R and other open-source technologies and field-based modelling concepts (such as Cellular Automata) including standard stochastic modelling techniques such as Monte Carlo approaches. Furthermore, I'm also interested in Earth Observation and Remote Sensing (RS) specially Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) RS and particularly Interferometric SAR (InSAR). I'm also interested in the use of fractals in studying coastal dynamics due to erosion/accretion caused by Sea level rise, climate change and other natural factors.
Apart from this, I like and spend my time on photography (HDR, astrophotography), physics (Lagrangian & Hamiltonian formulation of Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics), mathematics (number theory, graph theory), philosophy (dharma, science & religion, comparative religion) and arts (music theory, sound editing & post-production).
