I want to know if the black eyed peas I purchased are still good. I just purchased 25lbs at a discounted rate from a food coop. I had no clue that the “Best Buy” date would be 11 days before I received them.
I understand that doesn’t in itself mean the peas are not still good, but quite a few of the peas have black dots or black smears on them.
Are these black spots mold? Also if I cook them in a pressure cooker will it kill anything that can be potentially harmful?
