Where custom printed parts aren't supplied, or language variations are needed, for example in the Police theme, LEGO sets will come with sticker sheets.
Traditionally these were printed on white stickers, but often they are now printed on transparent stickers which appear to be more durable.
There are also some groups that offer custom stickers as well as reproduction sheets from classic sets.
