Metropolitan Rome

The Metropolitan City of Rome Capital (Italian: Città metropolitana di Roma Capitale) is an administrative region in the Lazio Region of Italy. The region outside of the city provides lots of opportunities for day trips, and can be worth deeper exploration for its archaeological sites, beach towns, and charming villages.

With 4.4 million inhabitants, nearly 3 million of these in the city of Rome, it is Italy's largest urban region.
