Dover-Foxcroft is the largest town in and the seat of Piscataquis County and is located near the geographic center of Maine. Dover-Foxcroft was originally two towns, Dover and Foxcroft, separated by the Piscataquis River. Dover was to the south of the river, and Foxcroft was to the north; on March 1, 1922, the two towns merged into a single town.

  • 🌍 American Woolen Company Foxcroft Mill (Mayo & Son Woolen Mill), East Main Street. A group of seven historic buildings and three structures on East Main Street in downtown Dover-Foxcroft. The Foxcroft Mill is located on the west side of the Piscataquis River. The buildings were built between 1844 and 1941, and have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A performing arts venue and movie theater that was built in 1940 and was closed for several decades before being renovated and revived in the early 2000s.
