North Central Nigeria

North Central Nigeria is a region of Nigeria. It is the larger chunk of the Nigerian Middle Belt, and is composed of the following states: Benue State, Kogi State, Kwara State, Nasarawa State, Niger State, Plateau State, and the Federal Capital Territory.

  • ๐ŸŒ Katsina-alaโ€” Katsina-Ala is a Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Katsina-Ala where the A344 highway starts.

Kogi State

  • ๐ŸŒ Lokoja โ€” the administrative capital of Kogi State.
  • ๐ŸŒ Kabba โ€” a trade centre for the Yoruba, Ebira, and other peoples of the surrounding area
  • ๐ŸŒ Okene โ€” Okene is a town in the Nigerian state of Kogi. The town is based in a Local Government Area of the same name.

Kwara State

  • ๐ŸŒ Ilorin โ€” a multicultural gateway between the northern and southern parts of Nigeria
  • ๐ŸŒ Esiแบน โ€” The town was founded by prince Baragbon c. 1770. The dialect of Yoruba spoken in Esie is predominantly Igbonna.
  • ๐ŸŒ Offa โ€” Offa is a city in Kwara State of Nigeria, with a population of about 166,112 inhabitants. The town is noted for its weaving and dyeing trade, using vegetable dyes made from locally grown indigo and other plants

  • ๐ŸŒ Jos โ€” Capital of Plateau state. Jos is infamous for its extraordinarily cold weather. For this reason, it was said to be a favorite haunt for the British during the colonial period. With cheap and abundant food, and fine weather, life in this city is however marred by periodic violent clashes, a result of simmering ethnic and religious tensions.
