Baixo Alentejo
Baixo Alentejo is a region in southern Portugal.
Cities
- đ AlcĂĄcer do Sal â a very old town on top of a hill, by the Sado River. The municipality includes the seaside village of Comporta.
- đ Alvito â town with castle and palace
- đ Beja â sits on a high hill overlooking beautiful and fertile valleys that produce cereals, olive oil, and wine
- đ GrĂąndola â a town known for singer Zeca Afonso as "Vila Morena" (tawny town), with a mountain of the same name
- đ Odemira â the largest municipality in Portugal by area. It includes the seaside village of Zambujeira do Mar with fine sandy beaches and traditional architecture; it is part of the Nature Park of the Southwest Alentejo
- đ Sines â port and castle city where Vasco da Gama was born
- đ Santiago do CacĂ©m â it has Roman ruins, a Moorish castle, and a 13th-century church
