Aquaman (nicknamed the King of the Seven Seas) is a fictional character and superhero who stars in many comic book titles by DC Comics. Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the character debuted in More Fun Comics #73 (September 1941). He is a founding member of the Justice League and often the King of the lost city of Atlantis.
His body is physiologically adapted to life underwater giving him superhuman strength, speed and stamina. He also has a sophisticated telepathic relationship with all underwater or sea-dwelling creatures of the ocean and able to communicate with them to enlist their aid. His primary arch-enemies have been his half-brother Ocean Master and the underwater pirate, Black Manta.
