Types of paint safe for children to make handprints out of, on canvas

I am looking to help our boys (5 and 7 years old) make their mother something like this for her birthday, but I have zero experience with painting beyond whatever I did in elementary school! I'm looking to (likely) put this on a canvas and need the…

Why would using an eraser holder be better than using a normal rectangle eraser?

I saw this today: It's a Staedtler Mars Plastic Eraser Refillable Holder. Well, if you tell me that it can be used to clean corners, yes initially it would but soon its edges would become round like other erasers. How will that be helpful? If you…

How to clean a plastic eraser?

If I rub it in sandpaper then it's sharp edges will become round in my opinion. Cutting the eraser means wasting the eraser. Can plastic erasers be cleaned by soap or any such thing by which I can protect the sharp edges.

I buy lots of candles, which means I end up with lots of candle holders. I want to be able to reuse these containers, in some cases for food storage since some of the candles are in jars. This means I need to completely eliminate all of the wax. How…

What material should I use for the frame of my lighter-than-air craft?

I'm toying around with the idea of making an RC lighter-than-air craft, probably a Zeppelin or Blimp shaped one. I'm pretty sure I'll just use a candle or two to get the lift so it isn't a Hydrogen bomb waiting to go off. Anyway, I've figured that…
